Precautions for STI Testing
Our clinic selects high-accuracy testing methods in accordance with sexually transmitted infection (STI) guidelines. Each specimen is handled individually and carefully to ensure testing accuracy. As a result, result notification may be delayed depending on clinic volume or specimen processing conditions.
To help maintain testing accuracy, please follow the instructions below:
Menstruation
Testing can be performed during menstruation. Please wipe carefully so that excessive blood does not mix with the sample. In some cases, additional sample collection may be requested to maintain testing accuracy.
If a large amount of blood is mixed with the sample, re-testing may be required.
Symptoms & When to Get Tested
Testing is recommended if you have symptoms such as: pain or discomfort during urination, discharge, genital irritation, sores, or rash. Even without symptoms, testing is suggested after unprotected sex, new partners, or exposure risk.

Treatment

If an infection is detected, treatment is provided in accordance with clinical guidelines and based on laboratory results and symptom evaluation.
Antibiotics, antivirals, or other appropriate therapies may be prescribed depending on the infection.
Some organisms can develop antimicrobial resistance, and treatment response may vary, so follow-up evaluation or a test-of-cure may be recommended in certain cases. Partner treatment may also be advised to prevent reinfection.

Precautions for STI Treatment
Our clinic provides guideline-based treatment to ensure high therapeutic effectiveness. However, due to antimicrobial resistance, 10–20% of cases may show insufficient response to certain medications. For this reason, multiple treatment options may be available depending on the infection and clinical evaluation.
To support proper treatment, please follow the instructions below:
Regarding external test results
If you already have test results from another clinic or from a home testing kit, treatment may be started immediately. However, co-infection and false-positive/false-negative results are possible, so additional testing at our clinic may be recommended.

PairLife Clinic is designed to protect privacy throughout the entire visit. Our facilities feature private waiting rooms, one-way flow, and minimized patient-to-patient contact so you do not encounter others in shared spaces.
